There are signs Otukpo Local government Chairman, George Alli may replace Benue Deputy Governor, Engr Benson Abounu as Governor Samuel Ortom’s running mate in the forth coming gubernatorial elections .
It was learnt that the local government chairman who appreciates a cozy association with Governor Ortom and as of late decamped to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is said to have been holding meetings with the general population of his new party to guarantee that he is the running mate should Ortom emerges as the party’s flagbearer.
In the mean time, the Deputy Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly Hon Egli Johnson who duplicates as Member speaking to Otukpo/Akpa voting demographic has expressed careful optimism on the decamping of Hon George Ali, Otukpo LGA Chairman from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
As indicated by him, even as George Alli is tipped to be Ortom’s running mate, he may need to join the line as there are more experienced politicians who are in front of him.
“George Ali has executed as a chairman and he will be an advantage for PDP. I know it is normal for him to need to try to higher office yet there is a long line and he needs to go along with it from the back”.
In a related developement, the leader of the Otukpo Legislative House and 9 different councilors have wished George Ali well on his decamping to PDP. The councilors who have stayed in APC have concurred not to raise some static but rather work intimately with George Ali to advance the board in spite of their party differences.
The Youth Leader of APC in Otukpo LGA, Jonah Enokela anyway expressed that George Alli ought to be question why not one councilor followed him into PDP, saying his takeoff from the APC won’t influence their achievement in the fourth coming elections.
