Recently a bricklayer was arrested by men of the Niger state police order for stealing bikes, says he depended on stealing since peopl no longer build houses in the state.
Danjuma Idris 28yrs old and his assistant,Mohammed Kudu 27yrs old, had been threatening motorcyclists in Kpakungu, Chanchaga Local Government Area of the state. They were captured in the wake of stealing the cruiser of one Emeka Johnson who lives in Ketaren Gwari.
When he was cross examined, Idris said he needed to look for another way to get by since nobody was calling him for bricklaying job any longer.
“Things are hard, l am searching for what to make due on since there are no employments anyplace. I have been in this business of stealing bikes from individuals for a considerable length of time. The bricklayer work I was doing can’t support me, individuals are not building houses as before and things are hard for young fellows and that was the reason I depended on stealing bikes from individuals,” he said.
presenting them before newsmen, the state police command representative, Muhammad Abubakar, said the suspects would be charged to court once examinations have been finished.
